S 420 Inline Thermal Mass Flow Sensor

S 420 Air/Gas Flow Meter

S 420 was the inline version of the hugely popular S 400 thermal mass flow meter that offered very cost effective and accurate mass flow measurement for compressed air and gases in smaller line sizes. Originally with sizes up to 2" threaded and DN80 flanged, S 420 was latterly available with threaded connections 1/4″, 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″ and flanged DN15, DN20 and DN25 as the S 421 was launched.

Although the S 420 was limited to 1.6MPa maximum pressure as standard, there was an option available for working pressures up to 4.0MPa or 40bar.

Output choices include 4-20mA (flow), pulse (consumption) and SDI (SUTO Digital Interface – flow, consumption and temperature) as standard with options for an LCD display.

  • Inline design
  • Pressure range up to 4.0MPa
  • Output 4-20mA, pulse, SDI
  • Optional LCD display

The S 420 could be supplied calibrated for standard gases such as Air, Carbon Dioxide, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Nitrogen Oxide, Argon, Natural Gas, Hydrogen, Helium and Propane. Other gases or gas mixes on request.

The cost effective design of the S 420 made it ideal for monitoring consumption of compressed air and measuring air leakage.

S 420 has now been replaced by S 421 flow sensor from DN32 and in the smaller sizes up to DN25, the S 415 & S 418.
