The P12 Angle Pattern Water Hammer Arrestor is designed to simplify installation by replacing a conventional 90 degree bend and the combination of the angled diaphragm with internal flow guides, delivers outstanding shock damping from either direction. These units are particularly good when installed at the top and bottom of risers, reducing transient shock from standing waves while not restricting the flow as it changes direction. In this way, they protect the pipe system from water hammer caused by valve closure or pump shutdown.
The P12 Water Hammer Arrestor has an elastomer diaphragm with a pressurised chamber behind it that can be adjusted to match the requirements of the system in question. The recommended internal pressure is 30%-50% of the normal water pressure which is indicated by the pressure gauge and can be changed through a Schrader fitting and a bike or car pump.
The standard sizes are DN50 to DN200 PN16 although ANSI 150FF is an option and body material choices are Ductile Iron or 304 stainless steel.
