The P14 water hammer arrestor has been highly successful worldwide in combating pipework damage and vibration noise arising from water hammer. This compact unit consists of a pressure vessel separated from the inlet piping by a diaphragm and the enclosed volume is kept at a lower level than the normal working pressure of the system so that it acts as a buffer to absorb the pressure transients.
P14 is available in sizes from 1/2" to 4" threaded and 3" to 12" with flanged connections making it suitable for a wide range of pipe installations. There are choices of construction material to provide compatibility with most industrial environments and fluids in addition to water and include, bronze, ductile iron, 304 and 316 stainless steels.
The internal pressure can easily be adjusted to optimise the effectiveness of the transient absorbtion through the schrader valve on the top.
