What is an ATEX valve?

An ATEX valve is a valve or valve assembly designed for use in hazardous locations where there is a risk of an explosive atmosphere. Depending on the application, this may include electrically actuated valves, pneumatic actuated valves, solenoid valves and associated control equipment that has been certified for use within designated ATEX zones.
